Sharks and Other Sea Monsters

It’s says what it has in it really. This is a book about sharks and other sea creatures. There isn’t a hidden message in the title. The main feature for this book is the 3D aspect also known as pop out.

The colours used in the book are widely used with all eh illustrations. Its overpowering in some aspects as the amount of text which has been put on the pages isn’t a lot compared to the pop out illustrations. There are also little books inside the main pages of the book with other smaller pop up books; these are full of information as well.

The main sense of the book it to overpower the reader with visuals, there is one problem with this as there is way too much to look at and you lose some of the information provided. 

If I where to change the overall look of the book, having less popups in to make the book more readable would be my first point of call. The colours used are complimentary but not with the amount used.

The book is mismatched with the styles used, having pop ups for the kids and very adult writing doesn’t seem to work within the same book. The writing or information should have been put in a child's font instead of having a mix match of age ranges.

 

Cooking With Kids

 Informational book straight from the word go, the front cover is designed for someone who wants their kids to cook in the kitchen. This is a great method to get and adult buy a book for their child. The image used is a kid in a chef’s hat with a comic sans font to create a book designed for children. 

The overall look of the book is a bright and colourful book full of useful and helpful information for kids and adults. All he images inside the book are photography to represent what they look life in real life compared to a drawing or illustration. Everything in the book is played out in an ordered fashion with key pieces of information placed in boxes. They all have headers and footers to create a highraicky on each page. 

Each page is not overcrowded with information and full of images which represent what the writing is about. I like the fact the amount of information to make the child know what they are cooking is just right as the text is very legible and can be read by younger children. 

Also the large images of what the food will look like after you have cooked it is a nice feature as most children will want to decide what they are cooking from the pictures that are available.

The Sea Side

1. The sea front can be one of the wetest parts to go foraging in anywhere. Its full of different species of plant, But around this area some are poisonous.

 Seaweed is the largest soutce of food found here as it grows in the ocean and comes up on the the land. There are a few other which include:-
